Members of Ballston lake Baptist Church visit the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Malta on the first Lord's Day of each month. Members visit with the residents and provide a thirty minute worship service in which one of the church's men delivers the message.
On the 3rd Sunday of each month the women of the church gather for fellowship and to pray for mission endeavors at home and abroad.
On the last Saturday of each month the men gather for fellowship and to pray for one another and for matters of concern to the church.
As an application of the mentoring relationship between the older women and young women described in Titus 2, the Ladies Reading Group is conducted on select Friday mornings during the fall, winter and spring. Books which address domestic issues and subjects related to Christian womanhood are read and discussed under the guidance of some of the church's older women.
A highlight of the year is the gathering together for this time of remembrance of the nation's war dead. Brethren from various churches join us for this event which affords opportunities for fellowship and recreation.
The children of the church occasionally participate in a "Literary Night". We adapt this event to suit children ages 4 and up with individual and group performances by many of the children.
We stock quality, proven literature by such authors as Charles H. Spurgeon, John Bunyan, J.C. Ryle, John Calvin, Martin Luther, and others on topics such as church history, parenting, devotions, apologetics and more.
